Can anything be recovered if medical malpractice causes the patient to die?

If a patient dies as a result of medical malpractice, different damages can be recovered depending on who’s bringing the claim. For example, if the person who passes away is married, the spouse can bring a different claim than the estate can, who can bring a different claim than children surviving as a result of this.
