From WPTV.com comes news of a head-on automobile crash in Fort Pierce on Saturday.
The news outlet says that one person was killed and another wounded in the accident which happened at approximately 1:00 PM. The accident scene was in the 5400 block of U.S. 1.
As authorities with the Fort Pierce Police Department relate, Cheyenne Hayes, 18, of Fort Pierce, was proceeding southbound on US 1 in a Chevrolet truck when for unknown or unstated reasons, she crossed the centerline and drove into the northbound lanes.
At this point she ran head-on into a white Honda driven by 30 year old Fort Pierce resident Ruth Lombrage.
Both drivers were received by Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, where Hayes was later declared as deceased. Lombrage’s condition is not known at the present time, however, she was said to have suffered non-life threatening wounds.
The accident continues to be investigated.
