The Florida Highway is reporting on a deadly two car head-on collision that occurred early this morning.

The accident happened on SR-710, two miles south of the Kanner Highway in Martin County at approximately 6:30 AM.

The FHP says a four door Mercury driven by Ronny Morales-Perez, 24, of Riviera Beach, was traveling northbound on SR-710. A Honda Civic driven by Odilon Velasquez Morales was going southbound. Morales-Perez attempted to pass a tractor-trailer and instead struck the front of the Civic, killing Odilon Velasquez Morales and his two passengers, Abel Perez Hernandez, 34, of Indiantown, and Carlos Lopez Maldanado, 34, also of Indiantown.

Ronny Morales-Perez, and his passenger, Armando Gomez Garcia, 27, of West Palm Beach, were both seriously wounded.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
