The Florida Highway Patrol issued a press release today which gives details about this morning’s fatal accident in St. Lucie County.
The accident occurred at 10:00 A.M. on Midway Road just east of State Route 70.
Killed was Michael Price, 59, of Okeechobee, driving a Chevy Traverse. The three passengers in his vehicle were also seriously injured. All three are from Okeechobee. They are: Amanda Jones, 37, Alexa Curley, 11, and Aleisha Curley, age unknown.
The other vehicle in this accident was driven by Orin Vickers, 68, of Fort Pierce. He was driving a 2003 Ford truck. He died at the scene.
The FHP states that the Chevy driven by Price was eastbound on Midway Road. For an unknown reason, the vehicle drifted into the westbound lane of Midway into the path of Vickers’ truck. At this point both vehicles collided head on.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

It goes without saying that everyone who drives must pay attention to the road at all times. Negligence that arises in a fatal accident may result in a wrongful death claim.
