The Florida Highway Patrol and FOX 29 reports that Mathew Mcallister was killed Friday morning when the vehicle he was in was involved in a three car accident on State Route 76 near Indiantown. All people involved in this accident are or were Indiantown residents.
Mathew Mcallister, 79, was a passenger in a car driven by Carroll Mcallister, 78. It was eastbound on SR-76.
Although the crash remains under investigation, the FHP does say the accident was initiated by the driving of Juan Carlos Loredo Rangel, 22.
Driving eastbound on SR-76, Rangel failed to observe the vehicle in front of him, a car driven by Kearria Sawyers, 24. Rangel’s car struck Sawyers’ car, spinning it around in front of the Mcallister vehicle. The Mcallister’s car was then impacted by the Sawyers’ car.
Rangel, Sawyers, and Carroll Mcallister all suffered minor injuries, however, Mathew Mcallister was killed in the incident.
The FHP says charges are pending.
We at DeBerard Injury Attorney are grieved by this terrible accident. We wish all the best for the family of the victims. Although legal proceedings are perhaps furthest from the minds of the survivors, a death at the hands of another through negligence may lead to a wrongful death claim.
