The PalmBeachPost is reporting that an early Monday morning car crash has left one person dead and four others injured. Investigators told the Post that Jose Suarez, 59, was killed when the Malibu he was driving collided with a Nissan Maxima at the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail outside of West Palm Beach. The intersection was unlit and traffic lights were out at the time. Suarez, investigators say, should have treated the intersection as a four-way stop, however, he did not do so and hit the westbound Nissan as he was turning left. The 17 year old driver of the Nissan should have also stopped at the intersection but failed to do so.
A sixteen year old passenger was in Suarez’ vehicle and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with a serious injury. The driver of the Nissan was also in serious condition at the time of the investigator’s report. The three teens in the Nissan were also taken to St. Mary’s.
The investigation into this accident is ongoing. We will have more details here as more facts are disclosed.
We at DeBerard Injury Attorney would like to extend our condolences to all those impacted by this terrible tragedy. We see car accidents like this far too frequently and they can happen at any time.
