In an official press release, authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol are reporting on the death of Jacari Lee Burch, 26, of Lauderhill, Florida.
The FHP says he died after a car crash in which his vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Larry Garcia, 26, of Port Saint Lucie.
The crash happened on I-95 at Okeechobee Boulevard in Palm Beach County. The time was approximately 2:20 AM on Sunday morning.
As the Patrol relates, Garcia was traveling southbound in an Infiniti Q50 on Interstate 95 approaching Okeechobee Boulevard in an undetermined travel lane. Burch was stopped southbound on Interstate 95, north of Okeechobee Boulevard in the outside paved shoulder.
Garcia crossed to the right and traveled to the outside paved shoulder rear-ending Burch. As a result, both vehicles turner around counterclockwise. Both vehicles came to rest facing in a easterly direction. Burch passed at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Garcia suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, however, the FHP notes that charges are pending.
