The Florida Highway Patrol has issued a press release detailing a two vehicle crash that occurred tonight in St. Lucie County.
The accident happened at 5:30 PM on State Road 70 west of Gentile Road.
Injured in the wreck were Margaret Freeman, 41, Alyssa Freeman, 15, and Jase Freeman, 7, all from Melbourne, Florida. Their conditions range from serious to critical, with the infant most seriously hurt.
According to the FHP, a pickup with a trailer attached was parked westbound on Okeechobee Road, otherwise known as State Road 70. The truck and trailer was partially blocking the outside lane. It was being driven by Rafael Lobaina, 64, of Leigh Acres. The front of the Freeman vehicle came to strike the back of the pickup’s trailer, causing Freeman’s vehicle to overturn.
Jase Freeman was subsequently airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition.
It is presumed that the accident investigation is continuing.
