The Florida Highway Patrol issued an official press release today that details yesterday’s violent collision between two vehicles on North Kings Highway North of Angle Road in Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County.
As the FHP reports, a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Sheena Smoot Pollidore, 60, of Fort Pierce, hydroplaned while traveling northbound on North Kings Highway. Pollidore’s vehicle crossed the center divided line directly into the path of a southbound 2007 Toyota Tundra driven by Samuel Topping, 34, of Fort Pierce. The impact at 5:00 p.m. left many people injured.
In the Ford Explorer, injured seriously was Sheena Pollidore, injured critically was Floricia Pollidore, 26, and suffering minor injuries were Jennifer Fortner and Benjamin Fortner, all of Fort Pierce.
In the Toyota Tundra, minor injuries occurred to Samuel Robert Topping, Bianca Hampton, and Samuel Anthony Topping, all of Fort Pierce.
All victims were transported to Lawnwood Medical Center.
The accident remains under investigation.
