The loved ones of a boy who was killed in a Port St. Lucie school bus crash widen their wrongful death lawsuit. The accident occurred at the intersection of Midway and Okeechobee roads in March 2012.
The legal team for the 9-year-old’s family recently released the new details of the lawsuit, claiming that the seat cushion the boy was sitting on was defective, and that he was using a seatbelt that failed when the school bus drover into the path of a tractor-trailer over two years ago.
The lawyer also revealed that as part of a negligence complaint that is pending against the school district, the firm will sue five major national manufacturers. By doing so, the legal team hopes to make the manufacturers aware of this problem in order to prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future to another person’s daughter or son.
