The Florida Highway Patrol and PalmBeachPost.com report that Davante Paschal, 23, of Boynton Beach, was critically injured after the car he was driving plunged into a water filled pond in Vero Beach on Saturday night. His passengers, Alyasia Paschal, 2, and Vashon Ferguson, 32, both of Boynton Beach, suffered only minor injuries.
The FHP states that Paschal’s Buick Lacrosse was going northbound on 41st Terrace, approaching 41st Square, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle travelled off the roadway striking a fence and ultimately winding up in a pond. All three victims were transported to the Indian River Medical Center. It is still unknown whether alcohol played a part in this accident or if seat belts were used as the investigation is ongoing.
January 25th update. The Florida Highway reports that Davante Paschal has died of his injuries. Also, some media outlets are reporting his name as spelled Davonte. January 26yh update. New media posts change the gender of Davonte. First reports were confused and wrong in identifying the sexes of the victims.
