The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Brittany and Alexis Musumeci of Pompano Beach were both killed Saturday night on I-95 near mile marker 107.5, when their Toyota was struck by a wrong-way driver.
The Musumecis were travelling southbound on I-95 when a Jeep Cherokee, travelling northbound in the southbound lane, struck the pair’s vehicle, killing both women. Both vehicles caught on fire and both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 23 year old Admerson Cleber Eugenio Vicente, from Jupiter, is hospitalized with critical injuries at Lawnwood Hospital. Wpbf.com reports that he was driving with his license revoked for being a habitual traffic offender.
The accident remains under investigation.
This is an update on September 2, 2015. Admerson Cleber Eugenio Vicente was arrested on Thursday October 1, 2015 when he was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. He has now been booked with DUI Manslaughter, and Vehicle Homicide, Driving without a Driver License Causing Death, and DUI Property Damage. His bond will be set at 3 million dollars. The crash remains under investigation.
