According to TCPalm, reporting from Port St. Lucie, a woman was fatally injured in a motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning. The accident occurred on Southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard, according to a press release from the local police.
Port St. Lucie resident, Alexis Etheridge, 23, was attempting a turn onto Port St. Lucie Boulevard by way of Southwest Del Rio Boulevard when the accident happened. The time was approximately 2:15 AM. At the time of this driving maneuver, her vehicle was t-boned by another driver, according to the release.
Etheridge was declare dead at the scene by St. Lucie Fire District emergency workers, this, again, according to the police statement. Another resident of Port St. Lucie, Charles Moreno, 22, was received by Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute for his injuries. He was the driver of the other vehicle. He is reported to be in stable condition as of last report.
The investigation at this point states that Moreno was “traveling at a high rate of speed.” The accident investigation is still ongoing.
