About SR 615 in Florida

The 6.2-mile State Road 615 or SR 615 in Florida, also known as 25th Street in Fort Pierce, is a north-south commuter road that serves Saint Lucie County. The route’s northern terminus intersects with U.S. Route 1 (State Road 5) northeast of the St. Lucie Airport. The southern end is an intersection with Edwards Road, currently County Road 611. There is no signage of County or State Road 615 at the south of Edwards Road in Fort Pierce. The 25th Street proceeds south for about 3.5 miles towards an intersection with Midway Road. It then changes its name to St. James Drive as it winds through northern Port St. Lucie until it reaches Airoso Boulevard, its southern terminus.

Florida SR 615 Accident

When motor vehicles travel at highway speeds, any small road hazard may cause a serious or even fatal accident. If a shoulder of the road abruptly drops off with no adequate warnings, motorists pulling to the roadside may lose control of their vehicle. Ongoing road construction causes uneven pavement as the surface is altered. Any pavement alterations should be accompanied by a warning sign. Large potholes can also cause unaware drivers to lose control of their vehicle.

Hydroplaning is likely to occur when there is excessive water pooling that creates a slippery roadway. Elevated roadways that lack guardrails or have weak guardrails may cause vehicles to fall off a bridge or roadway. When there’s a highway maintenance project but warning signs are not provided, drivers unaware of the roadway conditions can be involved in accidents.
