According to new statistics, teenage driver deaths in the U.S. are up 6 percent over the past six months. Twenty-three states, including Florida, have seen increases in teenage fatalities. In fact, Florida is one of the states that has seen the largest increase, and distracted driving seems to be at fault.

A highway safety consultant said that there are more teenage drivers on the road now than before, and many of them are texting behind the wheel. However, new cell phones apps might offer a solution to this growing problem. Apps are being developed that will use the GPS on the cell phone to disable the texting capabilities when the vehicle is moving.

In the meantime, distracted teenage drivers remain a growing problem across the country and in Florida. Were you injured in Florida by a distracted teenage driver? You need a Florida accident lawyer to stand up for your legal rights.
