County Road 809 or CR 809 in Florida, also known as Military Trail, consists of two sections that are both sections of State Road 809 until 2004. Military Trail’s southern section begins at Palmetto Park Road (County Road 798) in Boca Raton, and proceeds for over 19 miles to Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. The road continues south past County Road 798 into Broward County until it reaches its southern terminus at Sample Road (SR 834). CR 809 continues into Pompano Beach as Andrews Avenue Extension, connecting to Andrews Avenue and leading through Fort Lauderdale. The northern section of CR 809 begins at SR 809’s northern terminus, PGA Boulevard, and proceeds to SR 706 in Jupiter.

Florida CR 809 Accident

People driving on CR 809 in Florida are exposed to different types of road dangers including road construction dangers, shoulder drop-offs, and negligent or reckless drivers. If a highway accident that injures an innocent individual is due to road defects or poor road maintenance, the entity responsible for maintaining the road can be held legally liable for the victim’s injuries and losses.

Claims for dangerous highways are somewhat different from the typical car accident claims because such claims are filed against the government entity responsible for the road. Pursuing this type of claim can be difficult because the government may have immunity from claims. If the cause of the accident is another driver’s negligence, the injured individual may pursue a personal injury claim against the negligent driver.
