Pedestrian Jeffrey Sifuentes Killed in Car Crash on US-1 in Sebastian

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol state that pedestrian Jeffrey Sifuentes, 32, of Sebastian, was killed yesterday in a car crash at around 9:30 PM.

The accident occurred on US-1 south of County Road 512 in Sebastian in Indian River County.

The FHP states Sifuentes was crossing US-1 from east to west. He walked into the lane of travel for Howard Brown, 75, a resident of Fellsmere, who was traveling southbound at that time in a Honda Pilot.

The left front of the Honda struck Sifuentes, fatally injuring him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown was taken to the hospital for observation. No injuries to him are reported at this time.

The accident investigation is continuing.
