Motorcyclist Melbin Montejo Critically Injured in Car Crash on Federal Highway in Martin County

The Florida Highway Patrol issued a press release this afternoon in which they detailed a car versus motorcycle crash that happened yesterday morning in Martin County.

Critically injured was motorcyclist Melbin Hernandez Montejo, 29, of Jupiter. Critically injured as well was Deshawn Harold Pugh, 38, of Riviera Beach.

The FHP states that Montejo was traveling northbound on US-1 at 5:12 A.M. when he was struck by a southbound car driven by Pugh. The exact accident address is 18395 Federal Highway.

The front of Pugh’s car hit Montejo’s motorcycle, causing the two wheeler to veer off the roadway, striking a mail box, gates, and a concrete wall.

Both were taken to Saint Mary’s with critical injuries.

Charges are pending.
