Pedestrian Susan Mesler Killed in Car Crash on US-1 in Sebastian

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Susan Lynn Mesler, 53, of Barefoot Bay, was killed Sunday night while trying to cross US-1 in Sebastian in Indian River County.

Authorities say she was trying to cross US-1 from the west to the east when she was struck by a Ford Escape driven by Wendy Albey, 60, of Micco, Florida.

The accident occurred at 7:12 p.m.

Mesler was transported to Indian River Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
