The Florida Highway Patrol reported today that Thomas L. Dickerson, 54, of Vero Beach, was killed in a car crash late Sunday evening.

The accident occurred on 27th Street SW, just south of 15th Street in Vero Beach.

The FHP says Dickerson was traveling northbound in a Suzuki Grand Vitara on 27th Street, when for unknown reasons, he veered out of the northbound lane, crossed the centerline, and entered the southbound lane. His car was then struck by a Chevy Colbat driven by 22 year old Vero Beach resident Austin Hanlon. Hanlon suffered serious injuries.

Both men were transported to Lawnwood Medical Center where Dickerson was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

We at DeBerard Injury Attorney are saddened and distressed by another accident on the roads of our community. While the vast majority of the driving community operate in a safe manner, it must be remembered that negligence in a fatality accident may give rise to a unlawful death suit.
