Pedestrian Robert Dangio Killed in Car Crash on 14th Lane in Vero Beach

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that pedestrian Robert A. Dangio, 94, of Vero Beach, was killed yesterday in Vero Beach.

The accident occurred at 970 14th Lane which the FHP describes as or belonging to a business parking lot.

The FHP states Dangio was walking southbound across the roadway in the parking lot when he was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Equinox driven by 88 year old Barefoot Bay resident Joseph H. Brooks. Brooks’ vehicle hit Dangio head-on, throwing him onto the roadway. The victimswas taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:32 p.m.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
