The Florida Highway Patrol and TCPalm report that 46 year old George Patrick, resident of Port St. Lucie, was killed by a cement truck on I-95 on Thursday.

The accident occurred on an exit ramp for Fellsmere Road in Indian River County. Patrick was a construction worker at the time. The TCPalm calls this stretch of I-95 deadly.

The FHP states Patrick was crossing the exit ramp when he was struck by the Peterbilt truck driven by Daniel Covington, 57, of Sebastian.

Patrick was rushed to Sebastian River Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.

We at DeBerard Injury Attorney extend our condolences to everyone impacted by this tragedy. Even on a high speed motorway, the driving public must always be on the lookout for pedestrians and anything else that might lead to an accident. A wrongful death suit may arise if negligence was involved.
