The Florida Highway Patrol said today in an official press release that motorcyclist Richard Allan Nackowski was killed yesterday when he was hit by a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Antonio Rubio-Sanchez.
The accident occurred on State Road 714 on the Old Palm City Bridge in Palm City.
The FHP states Rubio-Sanchez, 50, of Stuart, hit 73 year old Nackowski of Palm City while doing a lane change. Sanchez fled the scene and was later apprehended at his home. He is being charged with driving without a license resulting in death and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
Nackowski was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
While everyone at DeBerard Injury Attorney is saddened by this senseless loss of life, we must remind people that a wrongful death claim may exist when negligence causes a fatality.
