The Florida Highway Patrol and ThePalmBeachPost.com are reporting that Burnell Brown, 62, off Lehigh Acres, died today in a three way car and truck crash.

The accident occurred around 8:00 A.M. on State Route 80 in western Palm Beach County near Lion Country Safari.

The FHP states that a 2005 Ford contractor van driven by Burnell crashed into a tractor trailer truck which was turning into a sod farm off Southern Boulevard. The FHP says it does not know why Burnell failed to judge correctly the closure rate between his vehicle and the big rig.

A Palms Transit Bus was impacted by the debris thrown by the accident. Several passengers of the bus were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries.

Burnell was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the big rig, Francisco Portal, 50, of Belle Glade, was not injured.

Everyone at DeBerard Injury Attorney are saddened by the news of this tragedy. We wish quick healing and closure to everyone connected with this accident.

Everyone driving on the roads is responsible for responsible driving. A wrongful death claim may be in order in the case of negligence.
