The PalmBeachPost.com is reporting that 60 year old Gerald Lyman of Greenacres was killed soon after 8:00 p.m on Saturday evening at the intersection of Melaleuca Lane and Jog Road in Lake Worth.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff stated that Lyman was headed eastbound on his bicycle at the intersection when he was struck and killed by a westbound Nissan driven by Nicole L. Betman, also a Greenacres resident. She was not injured. Lyman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Everyone at DeBerard Injury attorney wishes to express their sympathy to everyone involved in this tragedy.

Bicyclists enjoy many of the same rights and responsibilities as motorists. It is up to both to exercise their best judgement and caution when interacting with each other. A wrongful death claim against a person may exist if the negligent party caused another’s death.
