The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver of a Honda who was killed Saturday afternoon in a car crash on Cresthaven Boulevard in West Palm Beach.

WPTV.com reports the deceased is Daniel Wood, 74, of Palm Beach County.

Investigators say he was trying to make a left hand turn onto eastbound Cresthaven Boulevard when he was struck by a Jaguar illegally passing in a no passing zone. The driver of the Jaguar was 39 year old Hector Soque Cespedes.

Although Woods was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center, he died there of his injuries.

Cespedes was not hurt.

Everyone at DeBerard Injury Attorney is saddened by this tragedy. A wrongful death claim can arise where there is negligence at the hands of another. While criminal charges may be filed by the District Attorney in regard to a road accident, it does not preclude a civil suit from going forward in respect to the same accident.
