The Florida Highway Patrol and TCPalm are reporting on a horrific accident that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 25900 block of State Route 710, just north of Indiantown.

The accident killed three, including a four year old girl.

The FHP states that a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was being driven westbound on SR 710 when for unknown reasons it crossed the double center line, directly in the path of an 18 wheeler driven by Mickey Allen Strickland, 47, a resident of Lacoochee. The force of the collision tore the Malibu in two. All three in the Malibu were killed.

Dead are Amber Ruiz, 23, of Arcadia, Serenity Hines, 4, of Arcadia, and the driver, yet to be identified. The driver of the big rig, Strickland, is in Martin Memorial with serious injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. We will have more here as more information becomes available.

All of us at DeBerard Injury Attorney are appalled and saddened by this tragedy. We convey our heartfelt wishes of sympathy to all those involved.

Everyone driving on the roads of Florida must exercise diligence and responsibility to all those around them. A wrongful death suit may be possible against a negligent party who brings about a fatality.

Update: The FHP has identified the third victim, the driver of the Malibu. He was 22 year old Adolfo Olvera Garcia of Arcadia.
