Cedrick Wilcox Jr. Killed in Pedestrian Accident on I-95 in Martin County Near Port St. Lucie

The Florida Highway Patrol and the PalmBeachPost.com report that Cedrick Wilcox Jr., 24, of Port St. Lucie, was killed this morning when he was struck by a passing motorist on Northbound I-95 near Mile Marker 89. The accident scene is in rural Martin County.

The FHP report states that Wilcox stepped into the outside traffic lane for an unknown reason. He had been a passenger in a car that was stopped on Northbound I-95′s shoulder. The car that hit him was a 2001 Acura driven by Leonid Kolton, 76, of Newton, Massachusetts. Kolton’s passenger was Sofiya Gleyzer, 74, also of Newton. Neither suffered injuries.

Wilcox was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation into the crash continues.
