The single mother of a 16-year-old girl was killed in an early morning motorcycle crash in Port St. Lucie just two days before Christmas.

A 46-year-old woman was riding a motorcycle when a 52-year-old man in a mini van pulled up in front of her. The motorcycle rider was thrown off, and her Harley caught fire. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on the scene.

The fatal crash occurred at Southeast Charleston Drive and Southeast Green River Parkway.

A representative from the Port St. Lucie police reported that man who caused the accident was visibly shaken up. According to the man’s statement, he did not see the motorcycle. Witnesses share that the motorcycle was not speeding, and was traveling at about 40 mph, which is the speed limit in the area.

The teen daughter’s 18-year-old brother will be coming to town to help with their mother’s funeral arrangements. At the moment, a neighbor is helping the two manage the affairs.
